We have a fantastic opportunity to join Auckland Council as an EPMO Advisor.
The EPMO sets and owns the Investment Delivery Framework (IDF) for the Group. It monitors all project delivery, owns Sentient, IDF, reporting and benefit realisation, and is responsible for portfolio management of internal facing projects and programmes (including ICT and Our Strategy projects). It will also support delivery of enterprise-wide projects.
Reporting to the Head of EPMO you will lead or coordinate specific pieces of work and provide support to all areas of the EPMO as required, acting as backup when needed.
Day to day you can expect to:
- Act as co-ordinator for EPMO governance responsibilities e.g. Enterprise Portfolio Governance and related governance groups.
- Co-ordinate relationships with the “PMO” spokes across Council.
- Help drive EPMO initiatives as required e.g. IDF, and Benefit Library improvements.
- Lead or assist in project quality, health check and benefit audits.
- Build relationships across the organisation.
- Build up knowledge and skills across the EPMO work pipeline.
- Provide assistance to the Head of EPMO

This role is well suited to an experienced project management professional with good knowledge and experience of industry standard approaches as well as the ability to build strong partnerships and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
You will bring a tertiary commercial degree and industry recognised qualifications in Project Management, or Agile methodology. What is key here is proven experience working across teams, driving outcomes and ensuring compliance with processes.in addition to demonstrated ability to undertake analysis and think critically.
Political sensitivity, with a flexible, adaptable and pragmatic approach coupled with excellent written and oral communication skills provides you the ability to tailor responses to different audiences.
