He angitūtanga: The opportunity 

 

As a Digital Architect, you will be key in translating business needs and project requirements into practical architecture and solution designs that guide digital delivery. Working closely with digital product teams and business stakeholders, the role ensures decisions align with strategic goals while guiding projects from concept to delivery. This includes recommending off-the-shelf systems or bespoke builds, ensuring compliance with architectural frameworks, and exploring emerging technologies to deliver innovative, cost-effective outcomes.

 

This role is also responsible for maintaining the quality, integrity, and operational success of digital solutions while driving simplification and standardisation. It provides architectural guidance, supports governance processes, and mentors junior staff to strengthen design thinking and technical skills. With a focus on continuous improvement, privacy compliance, and best practice, the role contributes to post-implementation reviews and manages our architecture repository. As an advocate for enterprise design, you’ll help shape future digital capabilities and drive meaningful change.

He kōrero mōu: About you 

 

We are looking for a senior level experienced Digital Architect with a proven track record in designing and delivering complex digital solutions across web, mobile, cloud, and eCommerce platforms.

With at least five years of experience, you’ll bring expertise across applications, data, integration, and cloud environments, supported by a solid understanding of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and SOA.

 

Key must haves include:

 

  • A degree in Computer Science, IT Architecture, or Information Systems is essential; if you hold a Masters that would be an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), SaaS/PaaS environments, and on-premises systems
  • Hands-on experience with integration patterns, APIs, service bus, real-time and asynchronous data exchange
  • Proficiency in architecture modelling tools such as UML, SysML, Visio, and capability mapping techniques
  • Experience designing solutions across digital platforms including CRM, ERP, CMS, eCommerce, and data lakes
  • Solid understanding of data privacy regulations (PCI, GDPR) and ensuring solutions meet compliance standards
