Auckland Council’s Infrastructure & Environment Services division has an opportunity for a Development Programmes Manager to join our Development Programmes and Funding team.  

 

As Manager of Development Programmes, you will be accountable for the timely and cost-effective planning and management of major infrastructure development programmes and capital programmes and plans supporting major land development in growth areas across the Council Group. 

 

You will focus on:

  • Leading the establishment and management of growth and programme governance, to deliver an integrated implementation strategy
  • Incorporating funding and finance, staging and sequencing for infrastructure in strategic growth areas that is incorporated into the Group Investment Strategy
  • Change management of programme delivery through the life of the growth area infrastructure investment
  • Ensure the agreed milestones are achieved by supporting direct reports and stakeholders, advising on appropriate strategy, timeframes and budget implications associated with planning infrastructure delivery.  

 

He korero mōu: About you

 

This role requires 10 years’ experience in relevant capital works and/or renewals programmes, with exposure to programme of works >$10M. Experience in a political or highly complex organisation is extremely desirable. 

 

We will be looking for specific experience with:

  • Programme management, planning and development process, including a knowledge and understanding of the economics of development, spatial planning, urban design, consenting, and the legal and planning context within which property development takes place
  • Delivering identified goals in accordance with an agreed programme, including negotiating quality outcomes and managing a team
  • Strategic planning, property development, and programme management processes.
  • Public consultation and iwi consultation
