He angitūtanga: The opportunity
As the Customer Experience Coordinator, you will oversee the daily flow of complaints and LGOIMA requests, which includes logging, acknowledging, and allocating them across the team according to workload and portfolios. You will manage complex requests involving multiple departments or council-controlled organisations and coordinate joint responses with partners such as Auckland Transport, Watercare, and Kāinga Ora. The role entails liaising with our customers and council staff to ensure a customer focused outcome is provided to all complaints and requests for information.

He kōrero mōu: About you
We’re looking for a recent graduate with a tertiary qualification in Business Administration or a related field who is eager to build a career in privacy, official information, and local government processes. Some experience gained through internships, part-time roles, or volunteer work in customer service, administration, or policy environments will be valuable—especially where this involved handling sensitive information or complex customer interactions. A commitment to providing excellent customer service and a willingness to develop your skills further is essential.
A basic understanding of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act (LGOIMA) and local government functions is ideal, with support provided to grow your knowledge. An understanding of tikanga Māori and Te Reo, or a willingness to learn, is important in this role. You’ll also bring confidence in using Microsoft Office, and familiarity with systems such as SAP, Adobe, reporting tools, or document management systems would be an advantage.
