He angitūtanga: The opportunity

 

Our Credit Control team effectively manages Council's debt by reducing liabilities and collecting debt for credit approved customers. 

 

We now have an opportunity for a recovery coordinator to join us for a fixed term opportunity to December 2025

 

The focus of the role is to manage the day-today debt collection process, which might include legal and 3rd party hand-over. You will then communicate any progress with the various business units across Council.

You can expect to work on:

  • Negotiating and influencing customers to prioritize funds owed to Council and where applicable create payment plans
  • Account reconciliations across multiple systems, ensuring customers’ accounts are calculated correctly 
  • Being first point of contact for resolution of escalations, re-education of policies and standardized processes to maximize revenue collection

 

He kōrero mōu: About you
 

To be successful in this role you will have a background in financial and/or debt management.  Specifically, in credit control, billing, payments, collections, etc. 

 

We will also be looking for someone comfortable managing escalations and re-educating customers and business units on how best to manage their customers, so that the end result being a reduction in Council's exposure to risk.
