Auckland Council is looking for a proactive and community-minded Compliance Warden – CityWatch to help keep the heart of our city safe, informed, and thriving. Based in the Auckland CBD, this role focuses on enhancing public safety, raising awareness, and encouraging compliance with council policies and bylaws.
You’ll work closely with the public, businesses, and community groups to provide education and guidance, resolve issues early, and promote positive behaviour. With a strong emphasis on prevention and relationship-building, you’ll be a visible and trusted presence on the streets—helping to make Auckland a better place for everyone.
He kōrero mōu | About you
You’re a confident communicator with a calm, empathetic approach and a passion for public service. You bring:
- NCEA Level 3 and 1–2 years’ experience in a compliance, security, or community-facing role
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to de-escalate and educate
- A strong sense of initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently
- A current NZ driver’s licence and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- A commitment to continuous improvement, inclusivity, and upholding Auckland Council’s values
