Auckland Council’s Communications department has an exciting opportunity for a Channel Specialist to join the Channel and Production team on a fixed term contract from January to October 2026..
In this role, you’ll manage and optimise some of our most high-profile channels, including OurAuckland. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys using data-driven insights to improve performance and deliver great outcomes.
You’ll:
• Oversee the smooth running of the council’s email platform in partnership with internal and external teams
• Work with stakeholders to deliver and refine key communications such as the quarterly Ratepayer’s Update
• Translate data to help drive effectiveness and engagement
• Keep OurAuckland roadmaps up to date and support channel optimisation projects

He kōrero mōu: About you
You’re proactive, data-minded, and love making channels work smarter. You may come from a product management, research or marketing background, and you’re just as comfortable being hands-on as you are coming up with feature enhancements.
Strong relationship-building skills and experience working with a wide variety of stakeholders are essential. You’re organised, resilient and have a customer-first mindset. An appreciation of te ao Māori and confidence using te reo Māori in everyday communication are a plus.
You’ll bring:
• Product or channel management experience
• Understanding of marketing and digital communication
• Ability to translate insights into actionable improvements
• Experience in a complex organisation
