He angitūtanga: The Opportunity
 

Auckland Council is looking for an experienced Change & Engagement Lead to play a crucial role in the design and implementation of the Group Shared Services (GSS) Programme. This position will lead the people-side of change, developing and executing change management strategies that support a smooth transition to the shared services model across the Auckland Council Group. You will work closely with the GSS Programme Manager, Director, functional leaders, and stakeholders to ensure that all entities involved are engaged and ready for change.
 

In this pivotal role, you will lead change interventions, facilitate stakeholder workshops, and manage communication strategies to drive successful change. Your expertise will ensure that all employees are prepared, supported, and empowered throughout this transformation.
 

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Design a comprehensive change management strategy, aligned with GSS Programme objectives and phases, and identify key stakeholder groups to address potential challenges.
  • Develop and implement a stakeholder engagement plan, ensuring all entities involved in the GSS Programme are informed, engaged, and supportive of the transition.
  • Execute and manage a communication strategy to keep stakeholders informed about programme progress, milestones, and impacts. Create tailored communication materials for different stakeholder groups.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of change initiatives, providing ongoing support and making adjustments as needed to ensure successful adoption.

You are an experienced change management professional with a strong understanding of organisational transformation. With extensive experience in change management, communications, HR, and operational roles, you have successfully led initiatives in large, complex organisations, ensuring they are strategically planned and effectively implemented.
Your ability to engage stakeholders, influence leaders, and guide employees through transitions will be key to ensuring the success of the GSS Programme.
