Auckland Live is the leader in performing arts, culture, entertainment, and events in Auckland Tāmaki Makaurau, and is Aotearoa New Zealand’s largest performing arts platform. Auckland Conventions, Venues & Events facilitates and delivers exceptional events, including meetings, conferences, exhibitions, gala dinners, and awards ceremony from 10 to 2,000 people.

 

Auckland Live and Conventions presents events across Auckland's major performing arts venues and stadiums - Aotea Centre, Auckland Town Hall, The Civic, Aotea Square, Bruce Mason Centre, Shed 10, The Cloud, Viaduct Events Centre, Go Media (Mt Smart) Stadium, North Harbour Stadium, Western Springs Stadium, Auckland Art Gallery and Auckland Zoo.
 
He angitūtanga: The opportunity
The key purpose of this role is to supervise the delivery of catering services supporting the overall delivery of events for Auckland Live and Auckland Conventions, Venues & Events, including:

 

  • Supervising the food and beverage operations with a focus on customer service, ensuring all protocols/procedures are adhered to. 
  • Leading teams, including training, supervising and motivating staff within the Catering department.
  • Contribute to the delivery of events to a high standard, meeting and exceeding the needs of our clients, patrons, and staff.
  • Maintaining food safety practices and health and safety for yourself and others at workplace.

You will have experience within the food and beverage, hospitality and/or event industry and have enthusiasm and a passion for delivering excellent customer service. You relate well to a wide range of people, ensuring a high standard of service is provided.
 

  • Experienced in leading a team. 
  • Understanding of NZ food safety and H&S legislation.
  • Work well under pressure in a fast past environment.
  • Hold a current General Manager's certificate.
  • Flexible availability including 7 days per week, evenings till late, and public holidays.

The role will work rostered casual shifts over 7 days which will include nights, weekends, and public holidays, dependent on the events we are holding. 
 

The role is paid hourly with starting rate of $32.00 per hour.
