Business Service Co-ordinator

 

Auckland Zoo is a community-serving cultural organisation with a mission to ‘bring people together to build a future for wildlife’. Through science, learning & training, and strengthening our relationship with Te Ao Māori, we strive for excellence in animal care & welfare, conserve wildlife in the wild and nurture a lifelong connection with nature to enhance the well-being of our communities.

 

We’re looking for a proactive and adaptable Business Services Coordinator to join our tight-knit team at Auckland Zoo, part of the wider Tātaki Auckland Unlimited whānau. In this multi-faceted role, you’ll provide vital operational services, maintain and improve administrative systems and processes, and support both project and people function.

 

You’ll work across a variety of areas — from supporting the leadership and people teams, managing reception duties, to helping streamline workflows and even coordinating projects.

 

The role is 40 hours per week and reports to the Business Service Lead.

It is essential that you have:

 

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and experience in a similar high-level administrative role.
  • Confidence in juggling multiple tasks, solving problems, and staying calm under pressure.
  • A friendly and professional manner, ensuring excellent reception and communication experiences for both internal and external visitors.
  • A continuous improvement mindset — always looking for ways to do things better.
  • Proven experience supporting senior leadership or complex teams.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to excellent customer service.
  • A positive, solution-focused attitude - approaching challenges with enthusiasm and committed to finding effective solutions in any situation.
  • A collaborative, can-do attitude and respect for Te Ao Māori and tikanga practices.

Salary range:  $58,000 to $68,000 per annum, based on skillset and experience.
