Tātaki Auckland Unlimited (TAU) is proud to connect Aucklanders and visitors to the culture, heritage and experiences that make Tāmaki Makaurau unique. The New Zealand Maritime Museum Hui Te Ananui a Tangaroa is one of TAU’s key cultural destinations, telling the stories of Aotearoa’s maritime heritage and its ongoing connection to the sea.
Celebrating the connection between people and the sea, the team of passionate staff and volunteers share New Zealand’s history and inspirational stories through extensive galleries, exhibitions, programmes and on-water experiences. Sitting at the gateway of Auckland’s vibrant Viaduct Basin on Hobson Wharf, the museum is Auckland's primary CBD-based waterfront visitor attraction.
We are looking for a Part-Time, highly organised and customer-focused Booking Coordinator to join our Visitor Services team. In this role you will:
• Coordinate bookings for schools, community groups, tourism providers, and the general public.
• Manage bookings for museum spaces and events, ensuring smooth communication across teams.
• Maintain and champion our booking and ticketing systems, providing reporting, training, and troubleshooting support.
• Promote and cross-sell museum programmes and experiences to help drive visitation.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, holiday programme providers, and tourism agents.
This role is key to ensuring every visitor enjoys a seamless and positive experience—from their first enquiry to the day of their visit.
Please note:
• This is a Part-Time (24 hours/week) position
• Monday–Friday (Covering core business activities Monday to Friday, with a 9am start)
• This is an on-site position
Salary: Up to $37,980 per annum (based on 24 hours/week), depending on skills, qualifications, and experience. (This is the pro rata equivalent of a full-time salary of $63,300 per annum.)

We’re looking for someone with:
- At least 1–2 years’ experience in bookings or customer service, ideally in hospitality, tourism, or travel.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a warm and approachable manner.
- Strong administrative and organisational ability, with great attention to detail.
- Confidence using booking systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach, able to manage priorities and deadlines.
- A tertiary qualification and experience with ticketing/booking software would be an advantage.
