He angitūtanga: The opportunity

 

Auckland Council’s Policy department has a fantastic intermediate level opportunity for an advisor to join the infrastructure strategy team. 

This is a critical role for the council and will focus on providing analysis and advice to management and elected members on important issues such as: the alignment of Auckland Council’s  infrastructure investment with its broader regional goals, the efficient integration of land use and infrastructure, responding to climate change, addressing equity, and enabling improved strategic asset management at Te Kaunihera o Tāmaki Makaurau.

 

You could expect to work on:

 

  • coordinating input on issues from varied council and non-council infrastructure stakeholders into written reports, submissions, advice and presentations
  • evaluating infrastructure investment performance against Auckland’s biggest infrastructure issues 
  • data analysis and presentation for diverse audiences
  • working on strategic asset management improvements, including contributing to the Infrastructure Strategy

 

Based at the Auckland city centre, your team is at the heart of some of Auckland’s most important future decisions, both strategically and financially. You will work closely with council’s growth and transport strategy teams, and our operational departments, to ensure infrastructure decision making is integrated.

 

 

He kōrero mōu: About you

 

We welcome applications from individuals of diverse backgrounds such as infrastructure strategy or infrastructure planning, engineering, finance, or asset management planning. You have experience in similar roles within large, complex, or political organisations, and would have worked with at least one of the infrastructure asset classes that Auckland Council owns.

 

We will be looking for specific experience with the key role requirements:

 

  • ability to synthesise complex ideas to diverse audiences
  • knowledge or experience in the infrastructure decision-making tools (CBA, MCA, etc)
  • modelling skills using at least Microsoft Excel
  • geospatial analysis would be beneficial
  • excellent interpersonal and writing skills

This role has a remuneration range of $90,000-$95,000

Our employer Kiwisaver contribution is additional to base salary offered.
