Business Applications Technical Lead 

 

  • Be our product expert for the solutions used by various divisions in Auckland Council.
  • Work closely with Product Owners in a SAFe environment to prioritise the work for the support teams, which will be a mix of iterative enhancements, new feature development & BAU support.
  • Run daily stand-up’s, sprint planning, backlog grooming & retrospectives.
  • Take ownership on the delivery process from costing, planning, solution design through to implementation.
  • Play an active role in managing communications and coordinating restoration activities during high priority events and incidents.
  • Contribute to the vision for Council’s business divisions and become the trusted technical advisor to your business stakeholders.
  • Full-time permanent role based in our Auckland Central offices as well as working from home.

 

He angitūtanga: The opportunity

 

As the Business Systems Product Lead, you will support the delivery and management of a diverse portfolio of applications and technologies across a large customer group spanning all council departments. You will work in close partnership with business customers to understand their problems, future direction and strategy in order to recommend appropriate solutions whilst managing senior business stakeholder expectations effectively.

 

Delivering effective end-to-end services including product design, development, implementation, and support will be a vital part in your role.  

 

A key accountability of this role is to provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise for allocated Council portfolios, and you will work closely with the business unit staff members and senior management.

 

 

He kōrero mōu: About you

 

It is essential that you have at least 10+ years of hands-on experience in IT, by which 7+ years of technical/functional experience in business applications and integration and 5+ years in leading a technical team on large scale projects.

 

To be considered for this role, you will have considerable knowledge and experience working with a range of technology environments and have demonstrated leadership skills that can be applied in any of the business divisions and portfolios.  

 

You will also have experience working with & leading teams using Agile methodologies.

 

Since this role will be involved in managing a significant number of vendors and in negotiation of contracts to ensure Council gets best value for money balancing risks and costs; hence, your expert knowledge in RFP and contracts management will be put into practice.

 

Your solid exposure in SaaS solutions management and involvement in business process reengineering will contribute in your success in this role.
