We’re looking for a seasoned Business Analyst to support Auckland Council’s Technology Services function by analysing, documenting, and improving portfolio performance and business processes across key initiatives and platforms.
You’ll partner closely with teams across Technology Services to capture business and non-functional requirements, support business case development, contribute to benefit assessments, and ensure portfolio performance is measured and communicated clearly. In this pivotal role, you’ll advocate for process simplification and support the delivery of strategic and operational business solutions.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- 5+ years of experience in business analysis and financial portfolio performance within large, complex organisations
- Strong capability in business performance analysis, reporting, compliance, and process optimisation
- Deep understanding of business and management accounting principles
- Familiarity with software development lifecycles, business case creation, and benefits assessments
- Experience using BA tools and techniques such as BPMN, UML, Visio, and BABOK
- Excellent facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and presentation skills
- Confidence in using a range of analysis techniques, including workshops, process mapping, use cases, and interviews
- A collaborative, analytical, and solutions-focused mindset
- A demonstrated ability to work with agility, influence others, and apply innovation to real business problems
A tertiary qualification in Business, Information Systems, or a related field would be advantageous.
