He angitūtanga: The opportunity 

The Accounting Services - as part of the Group Treasury provides functional support for council-wide financial systems and processes. We are looking for an experienced individual to join our Banking and Reconciliation Team. This role is to ensure that bank balances are reconciled daily with the general ledger, and that Auckland Council general ledger reconciliations are performed on a monthly basis. 

In this position, you will lead, investigate and resolve any discrepancies and ensure the data that interfaces into SAP system balances on a daily basis.  You will monitor and report on any at-risk areas especially relating to cash handling and banking, ensuring that these comply with organisational polices and processes.

You will be proactive and able to work well with a diverse range of people; you will be able to build strong relationships at all levels of the organisation. A flexible approach while being able to work with a sense of urgency at times and possess a wide range of experience to enable you to deliver the key outcomes. 

Exposure to ERP computer systems, with large volume, multi-system accounting records along with exposure to Accounting Policies. You will have good record keeping skills and have solid experience in preparing bank and/or General Ledger reconciliations.
