Auckland Live is the leader in performing arts, culture, entertainment, and events in Auckland Tāmaki Makaurau, and is Aotearoa New Zealand’s largest performing arts platform. Auckland Conventions, Venues & Events facilitates and delivers exceptional events, including meetings, conferences, exhibitions, gala dinners, and awards ceremony from 10 to 3,000+ people.

We are seeking a professional Visitor Experience Team Leader to lead our highly motivated and engaged team of Duty Operation Managers, supporting the overall delivery of events for Tātaki Auckland Unlimited (TAU).

 

 Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the Front of House and Visitor Experience functions with a focus on manaakitanga, ensuring procedures are followed, merchandise, ushering, evacuation, cash handling, EFTPOS and POS systems are focussed and adhered to, supporting the overall timely and professional delivery of the event.
  • Training, supervising and motivating staff within the Venue & Event Operations department in line with TAU policies and procedures.
  • Contributing to developing the capability of Duty Operations Managers and Event staff through coaching, auditing performance at events and identifying training and development needs to improve delivery outcomes.
  • Planning and delivering of events and day to day operations, providing relevant reporting to management and contributing to team and business planning as required.
  • Implementing of service standards and behaviours that deliver superior customer service.

 

 

He kōrero mōu: About you

 

Our ideal applicant comes with a minimum 5 years event and people leadership experience at an operational/managerial level, in a Conference centre, Performing Arts Theatre, Hotel or similar hospitality or service-related environment, including leading front of house and food & beverage staff.

 

You have demonstrated high levels of customer service, with a focus on people leadership, excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship skills which will ensure you are able to work effectively with both external and internal stakeholders, managing these crucial relationships to ensure overall success.

 

You're an approachable, professional and communicative leader, with proven ability to manage a team, and motivate and develop people. You know how to allocate time efficiently, meet deadlines, and have the ability to think on your feet and problem solve, while maintaining flexibility at all times.

 

You will have a sound knowledge of Microsoft suite with strong keyboard skills and knowledge of point-of-sale operating systems and Event Applications, including Momentus. Knowledge of health and safety and fire evacuation procedures, and a demonstrated understanding of the cultural diversity within New Zealand and commitment to positive working relationships with all cultural groups is a must.

 

You will be available to work flexible hours (including evenings, early mornings, late finishes, weekends and public holidays)
