Regulatory Engineering is a department in the Regulatory Services directorate and our area of expertise is in land development. As a Traffic engineer you would be providing traffic engineering technical support to development engineers, planners, Auckland Transport and external customers.


This role is your chance to use your Traffic Engineering skills and ensure the timely and accurate provision of professional and technical traffic engineering advice on asset approvals, building consents and resource consents (and associated planning applications) consistent with Council’s codes of practice, engineering and infrastructure design standards and other relevant frameworks.

You are someone who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment. You are someone who wants to work on some of Auckland’s largest developments and who will take ownership to work with engineers and consultants to deliver high quality engineering outcomes.


We're looking for engineers with at least two years’ traffic engineering experience with a working knowledge of the Resource Management Act, Building Act and Local Government Act and/or site experience on developments within New Zealand. We are also looking for deeply experienced engineers who can work on full range of complex advice and assessment.


A tertiary qualification in civil engineering including relevant traffic engineering components is expected. A current New Zealand driver’s license is essential as you would be required travel regionally.
