He angitūtanga: The opportunity 

This position works across Tātaki Auckland Unlimited (TAU), its venues, and ancillary storage and provides support in the protection and security of the buildings (assets), contents, occupants, and users. All TAU security activities are geared towards preparedness, readiness, and staff growth.

This role leads the tactical and operational management of our central Communications Centre (COMCEN), ensuring real-time coordination, situational awareness, and effective communication between frontline teams, leadership, and emergency services. You will oversee incident response, technology readiness, staff coaching, and reporting — playing a critical role in preparedness across all venues.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring: 

  • Leads confidently in control room or emergency settings
  • Manages high-pressure incidents with clarity
  • Coaches teams and promotes best practices
  • Communicates effectively with all stakeholders
  • Is skilled in Milestone, Gallagher, access control, alarm monitoring, dispatch, and COMCEN technology
