The Compliance unit is responsible for administering compliance of the Resource Management Act, Building Act, Local Government Act and Auckland Council Bylaws.
Our Compliance teams ensure that people, property, and the environment of Tāmaki Makaurau are safe and protected through education and enforcement of the relevant legislation and regulations.
Our Stormwater Compliance Team is a small team that works to identify, and address identified vulnerabilities in the overall Auckland stormwater network. This initiative is a blend of reactive and proactive strategies focusing on gaining compliance on private properties and finding solutions to safeguard assets, keep our neighbourhoods from blockages, and minimise potential issues. Our approach aligns with the Building Act, Resource Management Act, the Auckland Unitary Plan and Stormwater Bylaw aiming to mitigate man-made exacerbation of surface water issues.
