Tāmaki Makaurau is home to more than 1.5 million people and we here at Auckland Council are working hard to make Auckland a world-class city.  As Auckland grows, our Regulatory Compliance Team protects people and places, the community, and the environment. We have a full-time opportunity for a Senior Specialist - Pollution to join the team. The work is varied, challenging, and rewarding. It includes a mix of office and fieldwork that will see you supporting teams around the region. You’ll manage our most complex regional activities, build capability through training and apply your technical expertise in support of the wider unit. Your focus is to manage the environmental risk of pollution incidents pursuant to the Regional and Unitary Plans and the Resource Management Act.
 
He kōrero mōu: About you
The successful candidate will have a technical qualification in science preferably a BSc, environmental/resource management or equivalent, at least 5 years experience in environmental compliance ideally local government experience in the regulatory environment, and has been involved in resource consents or consent compliance. As a senior specialist, you’ll provide quality advice and training on pollution response and incidents, and  assist with work planning and compliance project.
