Community Facilities provides world class open space and built facilities valued in excess of $10billion. As kaitiaki (guardian) of these facilities, we have an important role in facilitating the wider social, economic, environmental and cultural outcomes that promote the wellbeing of our communities. Be part of a unit that manages delivery of facility management and maintenance of all built and open space facilities across the region with contracts valued at over $130 million.

If you are passionate about turf and playing surfaces that enhance sports play on fields across Auckland, then we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our new regional sports park specialist team. Sitting in the Operational Management and Maintenance Unit, Senior Maintenance Delivery Coordinators oversee the delivery of effective and efficient day to day facility management across our sports parks.  In these roles, you will specialise in sports field management, coordinate maintenance across assets in our sports parks, drive robust Health and Safety practices and become the “go to” subject matter expert in your given area for sports fields management and maintenance.  Additionally, you will drive continuous improvement, manage sports field renovation budgets and ensure maximisation of value for money and quality while developing and maintaining excellent customer experience and stakeholder relationships.

You will have proven relevant experience in sports field management and maintenance alongside expertise in practical asset operational management. As well, you will have demonstrable technical knowledge in open space management and other specialist subject matter areas, including Health and Safety. As a strong team player, you will be solution focused with the ability to take on challenges and meet or exceed targets.

To be successful in this role you will need to be a self-starter who aspires to excellence. You will know your assets and how they perform, you will be the go to subject matter expert for colleagues outside the sports park portfolio as well as for elected members and sports clubs who operate on our sites. You will have the ability to make decisions on the spot, established communication expertise, strong collaboration skills and demonstrated capability in report writing and analysis, budget management and financial tracking.
