We are seeking an experienced and qualified accountant to join the team as a Senior Finance Business Partner. The team is part of Financial & Business Performance under the Chief Finance Office, reporting to the Finance Performance Manager for Customer & Community Services division. This role is a key role supporting General Managers and their lead teams across a portfolio of the business with financial reporting, financial systems, analysis and advice.

We are looking for demonstratable experience at an expert level with experience from large and complex organisations. You are a strategic and analytical individual with excellent problem-solving skills. You are resilient and thrive in high paced environments and can balance competing priorities. Demonstrating exceptional communication, networking, and negotiation skills you will build credible and long-lasting partnerships with multiple stakeholders, often with different agendas. You feel comfortable in political environments and can navigate situations with political acumen and sensitivity. You are adaptable and can tailor responses according to audience needs. Previous experience in project management and knowledge of the local government environment would also be highly advantageous.
A successful candidate will ideally have experience in:
- Be a qualified accountant and have at least five years of relevant finance experience
- Previous experience with preparing month-end financial results, forecasts, annual budgets, periodic reports and financial modelling
- Be a proficient user of MS Excel, SAP and Power BI
- Providing accurate commercial advice to senior leaders
- Ability to translate complex, high volume and sometimes contradictory data into meaningful and actionable insights
