He angitūtanga: The opportunity 
Our Corporate Support Service department currently has an exciting career opportunity for a Security Specialist to join the team.  You will support the health, safety and wellbeing of our people and all Aucklanders, as part of the wider council security team who are responsible for providing security services support and access control across the organisation, ensuring the physical safety of employees and the security of buildings. This role will see you investigating a range of internal physical security incidents and threats. You’ll compile detailed risk assessment reviews on council owned facilities and develop systems which support strong crime prevention strategies. You’ll also record, analyse and report on internal security trends and provide compelling evidential data and arguments to support adoption of security improvements.

 

He kōrero mōu: About you
You have a strong security background likely gained from time spent in the police or a similar field. This experience has ingrained your discipline, common sense and practical know how with the ability to work effectively alone or with a team. You have working knowledge of CCTV, access control and other security systems. You have strong investigative experience coupled with sharp analysis and database skills. Your communication skills are polished and you’re at ease writing and collating reports and presenting to a variety of audiences using tools like PowerPoint. The  position description is available to view by clicking here* Due to the nature of the role, a current and relevant NZ Driver’s licence is required.
