As kaitiaki (guardian) of Auckland Council facilities, we play a vital role in promoting the wellbeing of our communities while also delivering strategically significant programmes. 
 
Reporting to the Manager Major Projects in the Project Specialisation Office (PSO), you’ll be the unit’s programme delivery lead in the specialist areas of coastal and geotechnical capital renewal projects.

 

As Programme Principal you’ll lead and manage the entire coastal and geotechnical renewals programme from compiling and prioritising the rolling 1-3-10 year programmes in conjunction with technical specialists, governors and key stakeholders, and will utilise a combination of direct management, internal project delivery units and external suppliers to deliver the required project outcomes under the programme. 

 

He kōrero mōu: About you
 
Your background will likely demonstrate experience in specialist engineering structures, alongside project experience in capital works delivery including programme planning, design and construction phases. We’re looking for strong experience in project and programme management, including substantial and proven understanding of managing delivery risk.

 

With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you’ll build effective relationships with ease and have the agility to work cross functionally across the unit and other council departments.

 

Alongside professional body registration (preferred), you have a degree or tertiary qualification in Engineering and/or associated relevant field including programme and/or project management.

You will be required to have a valid NZ driver's licence due to the nature of the position where you will be required to regularly travel to various Community Facility sites across the Auckland region.
 
This role is deemed safety sensitive and, in line with Auckland Council policy, you will be required to complete pre-employment drug & alcohol testing.
