Join a new Recovery Team in Auckland Emergency Management and help ensure Auckland is well-positioned to recover from future emergencies.
As Recovery Programme Manager, you will lead a programme to embed lessons from the 2023 recovery into council operations.
This six-month role focuses on establishing a successful programme to deliver the actions needed to strengthen recovery preparedness for Auckland Council and its partners.
In this role you will:
- Develop a practical plan that translates lessons into actions
- Lead a programme of recovery-readiness improvements
- Work with internal teams, partner agencies and other councils
- Monitoring completion of programmes supporting Auckland’s recovery from the 2023 severe weather events.

You have extensive experience leading programmes in large organisations – turning lessons into actionable change, coordinating stakeholders and driving systemwide improvements.
You bring:
- Strong strategic and operational thinking
- Programme and project management experience in complex environments
- Experience applying recovery or emergency management frameworks
- The ability to turn lessons learned into practical actions
- Experience engaging and influencing diverse stakeholder groups
