Te Kaunihera is excited to announce a newly created opportunity to lead the integration of Mātauranga Māori into environmental decision-making. In this pivotal role, you will drive the development and delivery of strategic Māori Outcomes initiatives, working closely with mana whenua to create meaningful and lasting change for the people of Tāmaki Makaurau.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Develop systematic approaches to incorporating Mātauranga Māori in council processes and programmes.
•    Advise senior leadership on Māori Outcomes, ensuring alignment with Te Tiriti o Waitangi and strategic goals.
•    Collaborate with mana whenua to integrate Mātauranga Māori into environmental reporting and monitoring.
•    Build cross-council relationships to embed Māori Outcomes into everyday activities and long-term planning.

You are a passionate and experienced leader with a deep understanding of te ao Māori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and Mātauranga Māori. With over 10 years of experience working in Māori contexts, you are skilled at building collaborative relationships with mana whenua, mataawaka, and diverse stakeholders. You bring a strategic mindset, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to navigate complex environments. Your resilience and adaptability ensure you can lead initiatives through challenges while driving meaningful change.
