Auckland Council’s People & Culture division has an opportunity for a People Advisor to join our People Advice & Partnering team. This is a great opportunity to build your experience in a large, complex, and well-known organisation. 

Please note, this is a fixed-term oppprtunity from 01.07.2022 - 23.12.2022 to cover maternity leave. 


In this role, you would provide advice and service to our employees and people leaders on matters related to general HR guidance, policy interpretation and coaching on the use of our IT systems, tools and process. Overall, your key focus will be building the capability within Auckland Council.


Day-to-day you could expect to work on:
•    Providing support online or over the phone
•    Recording & tracking all queries online, including updating as it progresses
•    Communicating updates to all relevant parties
•    Escalating issues as necessary


He kōrero mōu: About you

This role requires experience in similar People Advisory roles, with a sound understanding of NZ employment law and people and culture processes.

We will be looking for specific experience with:
•    Operating as a trusted advisor in the HR operational space
•    Working in a high volume, pressurised role
•    Autonomously managing your own workload
•    Contributing to team culture and capability uplift

Exposure to a local government and/or unionised environment would be beneficial, though not mandatory.

This role has a salary range of $55-60k + 3% KiwiSaver contribution
