He angitūtanga: The opportunity 

We are seeking a dynamic, customer- focused individual to join our Network Support Team. This role combines lifeguarding, customer support, fitness administration, and recreation assistance. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for helping others, ensuring safety, promoting fitness, and delivering excellent customer service in an active environment. 

Some key responsibilities: 

1. Lifeguarding 

  • Monitor pool areas to ensure the safety and well-being of all customers. 

  • Enforce all safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents. 

  • Conduct routine checks of pool facilities to ensure cleanliness of environment. 
     

2. Customer support representative 

  • Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, addressing concerns and handling customer complaints. 

  • Process memberships, reservations, and payments via the facility's management system. 

  • Respond to inquiries about the facility and membership options. 

 3. Fitness administration 

  • Assist with scheduling, sign ups and maintaining cleanliness of the gym. 

  • Engage with customers about queries, complaints and any feedback they may have. 

4. Recreation assistant 

  • Support recreation programs, including equipment setup, preparing materials, and organizing activities. 

  • Assist in delivering engaging recreation programs for various age groups. 

  • Proactive behaviour monitoring to ensure a positive and supportive atmosphere. 

We currently have a 24-hour and 32-hour permanent part-time roles. 

Working on a variable roster with fortnightly changes, your shifts are between 5AM and 10 PM. Please note that at least one weekend day will be required as part of your schedule. This role will provide support and cover across multiple Leisure Centres including Tepid Baths, West Wave, and North Centre (All the way up Stanmore Bay). 

 

 

He kōrero mōu: About you 

To work as a Network Team Member, you need a Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate (PLPC). We will provide ALL training for you free of charge and will pay for you to attend the training to enable you to get your PLPC. However, you will need to pass the following test prior to the training: 

  • Swim 200m freestyle in less than 6 minutes.  

  • Swim 50m breaststroke.  

  • Swim 25m side stroke  

  • Retrieve objects from the bottom of a 5m pool. 

  • Tread water for 5 minutes. 

In addition to your swimming skills, we're looking for individuals with proven administration and communication skills, a track record of providing outstanding customer service, and excellent maturity and reliability. As you'll be working on a variable roster, a full driver's license and access to your own vehicle are required. 

You will be required to attend the Lifeguard Training at West Wave and our CBD office Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm from 1 December to 11 December 2025.
