He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Auckland Council’s Auckland Urban Development Office (AUDO) has an opportunity for a Manager Infrastructure Funding & Agreements to join the Infrastructure Investment & Phasing team. This is a critical leadership role that will focus on driving, negotiating and delivering high-value infrastructure funding agreements, ensuring council’s infrastructure delivery is financially sustainable and strategically aligned. This is an on-site position.

 

You could expect to work on:

  •  Providing strategic and commercial leadership across the negotiation and execution of complex funding and commercial agreements.
  • Leading a small, high-performing team that works closely with internal stakeholders, elected members, Crown agencies and the development community.
  • Ensuring infrastructure agreements are robust, cost-effective and enable Auckland’s future growth.
  • Taking the opportunities to directly shape infrastructure outcomes that support the long-term wellbeing of Tāmaki Makaurau.

 


He kōrero mōu: About you

This role requires significant commercial experience and an in-depth understanding of infrastructure development. You’ll bring a strong legal background and proven ability in leading and negotiating complex funding and infrastructure agreements in high-value and high-stakes environments. Your ability to collaborate across disciplines, influence outcomes, and operate within a complex local government or public policy setting will be key to success.

You’ll be confident managing diverse stakeholder interests and navigating political contexts. A relevant tertiary qualification is essential (e.g. law, finance, infrastructure planning), and you’ll bring at least 10 years' experience in negotiating large-value contracts and infrastructure funding models.
