Manager, Community Place – Panmure Library 

 

We are recruiting for a Manager, Community Place – Panmure Library to lead a talented team and build relationships within a library-loving community! With a proven track record in staff leadership, we are seeking a people person who can foster strong relationships with key stakeholders. You will also create effective community practice, addressing the needs and priorities of the Maungakiekie - Tāmaki Local Board and local communities and provide a safe, welcoming environment for customers and staff.


 
Key responsibilities include:

  • day-to-day operational management of the library including responsibility for financial and staffing allocations
  • facilitating and growing community and partner-led activity which meets the needs of the community 
  • supporting the collaborative management of recruitment and induction of staff for the local board team, as well as the development and coaching of existing staff
  • lead and develop staff to deliver excellence in visitor experiences.

 

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity requiring flexibility to work across the Maungakiekie - Tāmaki local board area as required.

 

The library is currently open 7 days a week. Some late nights and weekend support may be required to support the service and programmes and events.

  • Relationship Building: essential to success in community engagement and partnering within the Maungakiekie - Tāmaki local board community.
  • Embracing Change and Diversity: skilled in guiding teams through ambiguity, fostering diverse thinking, and creating a positive culture.

Band G $88,528 - $104,150 depending on skillset and experience
