He angitūtanga: The opportunity

 

This is a period of growth for us and we’re looking for a communications star to join our team and help tell our region’s story to the world on a 12-month fixed term.   

 

You’ll plan and manage communications, create compelling written and digital content, and support your manager in providing strategic communications advice to the business. You will also develop and improve our communications channels and processes; and create and share success stories, business-as-usual updates and other engaging content with our diverse workforce.

 

Prepare and maintain engagement plans for key initiatives to follow including stakeholder analysis, key communications messages and channels, and the approach to stakeholder engagement and communication.  If you’re looking for a varied role within a dynamic and supportive environment and an opportunity to grow as a communicator, we’d love to hear from you.  

 

 

He kōrero mōu: About you 

 

You’re a true storyteller, an excellent writer and content expert who can turn your hand to anything from long-form copywriting to video and social media.  We’re looking for a self-starter who has a natural ability to communicate, warm rapport with others, great copywriting skills and happens to be passionate about our fantastic city.  

 

With at least 3-5 years of experience within an executional / tactical communication / public relations and/or media liaison role. Experience in creating a wide range of communications content, including newsletters, video, Teams and intranet sites. You can translate reports and dry subjects into engaging and easily digestible content – you’re a plain English pro who encourages and champions the use of Te Reo Māori.  

 

You are also digitally-savvy, and ideally familiar with Microsoft Teams and the full suite of Office 365 products.  Customer focussed and innovative, you’re naturally inquisitive and always strive to find better ways to do things. Your collaborative approach ensures you develop effective relationships with a wide range of internal clients.
