Auckland Council is on a continued and significant transformation journey and as a result has grown to become one of the largest Information Communications and Technology Services (ICT) capabilities in New Zealand. This presents a unique opportunity for an experienced ICT professional to come and join us in this exciting complex and energized environment in a full-time permanent role.

As an ICT Infrastructure Service Lead Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for helping drive the continual improvement in the scope, quality and management of Auckland Council’s server infrastructure, applications, data centre and backup environments.

You will be applying your 10+ years of IT experience and excellent technical knowledge along with your knowledge of industry best practices, to assist, maintain and support the integration and implementation of new and existing technology .

 

Additionally, you will contribute to successful customer outcomes, providing quality advice regarding the use of our technology, data and techniques to solve business problems.

We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Service Lead Integrations Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in infrastructure service integration and a demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively to meet agreed timeframes. The successful candidate will also have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, a commitment to quality service, and a strong focus on delivering projects on time and to specification.

 

Key skills:

  • Experience in Microsoft technologies, particularly across the AD, Exchange, and Security domains
  • Experience in M365, Azure, and AWS
  • 10+ years of IT experience and excellent technical knowledge of core infrastructure management gained from supporting, maintaining, designing, and implementing network/computer/telephony/storage/application infrastructure
  • Experience using system management and automated provisioning systems and technologies, e.g. SCCM, vRA\vRO, Orchestration, bare metal, OS deployment, inventory, and asset management, patching, and configuration
  • Experience in policy, process, standards, and work instruction development in a technical environment
  • Experience in analyzing, managing, and implementing IT solutions across a broad range of technologies
  • Experience in the broad use of computing facilities from software development to security design
  • Experience in a complex heterogeneous environment
  • Experience with Microsoft and Virtual technologies including Windows, VMware, Citrix
  • Solid understanding of application, server, and network security mechanisms and best practices, including authentication methods, secure data access, firewalls, IPSec, etc.
  • Proficient with implementing the following products: Fortinet, Cisco (networking and VoIP), SAN (Scality, Hitachi, Nimble), virtual environments (VMware)
  • Expertise in architecture, multi-tiered applications, and databases
  • Tertiary qualification or industry certification in a related discipline is preferred
  • Certifications: VCP, MCSE, CCNA & CCDP.
