He angitūtanga: The opportunity.
In this role, you have ownership of the efficient day-to-day operations of your functional team to ensure the safe and cost-effective delivery of the event programme to Aucklanders and visitors. You will also support your functional manager in day-to-day operations. You will maintain the work and service standards required by your skilled team.
You are responsible for creating accurate reporting to ensure safety and operations objectives are met and can be relied upon to inform decisions. You own the employee life cycle of the team, from recruitment to induction to their ongoing career development. This role is responsible for the safety of your team and ensuring that the correct training and equipment are available and understood.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the workforce plan for the team, ensuring you are aware of resourcing, shortages, or risks with support from your function manager to solve them.
- Create appropriate rosters to deliver efficient service as required and manage roster changes as they occur.
- Communicate with stakeholders to avoid surprises and ensure full support for programming.
- Work on the systems required for your role, ensuring the development and maintenance of our database, systems, policies, and procedures.
- Undertake a training role in areas of professional expertise to widen the skills and knowledge of others.
- Work closely with other teams to understand how we collaborate to achieve seamless operations and desired outcomes.
- Promote activities and initiatives that assist the organisation in achieving its vision and mission.
- As an employee of the organisation, you are required to be associated, as required, with Civil Defence Emergency Management or any exercise that might be organised in relation to this organisation function.

He kōrero mōu: About you.
Ideally, you will have 3+ years of relevant experience in an operational role. You can demonstrate a good level of literacy, critical thinking, and responsibility for the performance of others.
You will also display the following:
- Able to build relationships and communicate at all levels.
- Utilise time efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Able to provide technical training and coaching to the team.
- Highly developed conceptual and planning skills; able to multi-task
- Proven supervisory experience in leading teams.
- Experience with operations for events, sustainability, and staff rostering
- Proven use of Microsoft computer programmes (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) with good keyboard skills and event application
- demonstrated a career working in an industry with variable rosters, including evenings, early mornings, late finishes, weekends, and public holidays, with a commitment to ongoing variable rosters.
