As our Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager for our Customer and Community Services (C&CS) directorate, you will be a passionate professional ready to make your mark within a huge organisation where no two days are the same. This critical position will be responsible for promoting, engaging and delivering the strategies of our HSW plan.  With your exceptional communication skills, you will lead by influence, coaching and sharing your expert HSW knowledge to embed our culture of wellbeing and inclusiveness.

He kōrero mōu: About you


You will implement programmes and initiatives that will help us achieve our goal of being the best at what we do!  With a particular focus on coaching and advising leaders within the directorate, and with a passion for wellbeing, you will be our champion delivering our commitments to HSW across C&CS and Council. 


Ideally, you will bring;


  • 7 + years’ operational HSW experience in a complex environment
  • Diploma in Health and Safety Management or similar tertiary qualification
  • Registration as an accredited health and safety professional with a HASANZ organisation, such as NZISM.
  • 3+ years’ experience as a People Leader in an operational team.
  • Knowledge of industry best practice and current trends in HSW.
  • Proven experience in a Wellbeing function.
  • Solid legislative and technical knowledge in HSW


Competence in Te Reo Māori and Tikanga Māori would be highly regarded.
