The Community and Social Innovation team are in the business of radical social and economic transformation. Our job is to support prosperous and resilient south and west Auckland communities where tamariki and whānau thrive. 


We are partnering with the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) on the Uptempo programme where we are focusing on demonstrating what it really takes to achieve positive economic transformation for Pasifika families.  


He angitūtanga: The opportunity


As Aiga (Family) Facilitator you will work directly with a primary participant and their family to build a trusting relationship and be their key point of contact to access the support and services they need, while one or more workers in the family transition into higher paid, higher skilled jobs. 


You will be a trusted partner, a coach, a mentor, a cheerleader, an advocate who builds capability within the family, addressing sometimes quite complex needs, so they can co-design solutions to progress in their chosen pathways. 


From a broader perspective, your role will also see you find new ways to achieve outcomes for Pasifika communities by identifying how to scale what works and change whole systems to achieve impact beyond what can be delivered on our own.

He kōrero mōu: About you


Your background will demonstrate a deep understanding of Pasifika people and an ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with a diverse range of Pasifika families. You will have experience in roles where you have worked directly with families to support them with complex, sensitive, and diverse needs. Ideally, you are degree qualified, meticulous with data and able to capture, build and share insights to inform evaluations and communications. You will also bring with you strong networks relevant to our priority communities. 


As an experienced advocate you will use your in-depth knowledge of this space to disrupt the status quo and create access to supports that encourage prosperity. A good understanding of Te Reo Māori me ōna tikanga Māori is also highly desired. 


With your digital capability, you will be able to impart your knowledge to upskill families and your proven ability to think critically and distrputively will ensure you are able to identify innovative family-centred solutions to entrenched system issues like workforce progression for Pasifika employees.
