He angitūtanga: The opportunity


Tātaki Auckland Unlimited has an opportunity for a Facilitation Team Lead within the Screen Auckland team.


In this role you will provide effective advocacy, leadership, coordination and operational stakeholder and screen industry relationships associated with enabling permitted filming activities from concept through to post-filming debrief.


You will put a focus on enabling, supervising and managing the daily operations of the region's film permitting, delivered by a team of specialised film facilitators.

Day-to-day you could expect to work on:


  • Advocating for, facilitate and coordinate all filming activity that utilises Auckland Council property and impacts upon the region’s public open space – this includes streets, city squares, beaches, parks and reserves
  • Maintain excellent relationships with industry and regulatory experts, contributing to an improved film reputation through the provision of excellent customer service experience for a broad range of cusstomers
  • Manage the assessment and decision making of applications, consents and permits, as per the Auckland Film Protocol
  • Coordinate debriefs with productions and stakeholders to identify, document and communicate learnings that can be applied to future filming activities
  • Ensuring Health and safety requirements are consistently upheld

This role requires experience in similar supervisory roles, with a sound understanding of the screen industry, project management or related fields.


We are looking for someone who will drive our vision and purpose, by building effective teams in a collaborative fashion and leading with courage.


We will be looking for specific experience with:


  • Experience in a role with an emphasis on relationship development and management with large organisations
  • An ability to work under pressure, multi-task and prioritise tasks to manage your workload efficiently
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in screen industry, project management or related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to deliver presentations, chair meetings or similar forum
  • A current New Zealand driver’s licence
  • A tertiary qualification or equivalent screen industry experience, project management or events management experience (or related discipline)

This role predominantly works between core business hours Monday - Friday, however, some flexibility a times will be required if you are required to host an event, attendant a meeting or to take care of an urgent escalation.
