He angitūtanga: The opportunity
The Event Services Manager role ensures the successful coordination and delivery of TAU’s Major Events in alignment with the TAU Major Events Strategy. This role will utilise TAU' resources to consistently drive and deliver each Major Event to an international standard, with a focus on working collaboratively across all stakeholders effectively.
You will assist the Event Director/s in the delivery of events, including the overall scope programming, scheduling, operations, logistics, financial budget and delivery of festival outcomes for each Owned Event worked.
Key responsibilities can be found below:
- Deliver all key outputs by ensuring all workstreams are delivered effectively and in a timely manner
- Working with the Event Director to manage project risks, working toward solutions, mitigations, and contingencies for implementation
- Assist the Event Director to monitor and provide feedback for reporting and preparing project execution plans for delivery
- Assist the Event Director with site maps, event layout and preparation of project execution plans for delivery
- When required, provide additional event services and support for other TAU anchor events
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, sponsors, and suppliers to ensure successful collaboration and engagement
- Work with the Event Director in the sourcing and contracting of appropriate event suppliers
- Collaborate with internal TAU teams such as marketing, finance, communications, and operations to ensure smooth delivery from each work stream
- Where directed by the Group Manager TAU Major Events, you will be expected to provide additional event services and support for other TAU anchor events
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of Māori values and Te Tiriti o Waitangi to be better equipped to respect and value Tangata Whenua and the diverse cultures that make up our community

He kōrero mōu: About you
Our ideal applicant will be equipped with the following:
- 5 years’ experience designing and/or delivering major events
- Some local government and private sector experience would be advantageous
- A Level 1 Tertiary qualification in project or event management or similar
- Excellent event planning and delivery skills
- Demonstrated ability in developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong time management and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work well in a time-pressured environment and act decisively
- Proficiency in influencing, negotiation, decision-making making and problem-solving skills
- Possession of excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to research, prepare and deliver correspondence and reports
