We are seeking a talented & experienced Event Planner to join our high-performing team. The role will support our Auckland Conventions Venues & Events brand which specialises in business and private events.

 

Our company is the custodian of some of the most iconic venues in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland including the Auckland Zoo, Aotea Centre, The Civic, Auckland Town Hall, Bruce Mason Centre, Shed 10, The Cloud, Viaduct Events Centre, Go Media Stadium, North Harbour Stadium and Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki.


 
Reporting to the Manager - Event Planning Conventions & Expos, this role is primarily based at Aotea Centre in Auckland’s City Centre.  

As an Event Planner, you will coordinate logistics and develop relationships with internal staff, external suppliers, and a range of national and international clients, to bring their events to life, at one or more of our iconic venues.


 
This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to be a part of the team that plans and delivers over 1,000 events annually.

 
Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide the planning and operational expertise for multiple concurrent events by managing client and organisational logistics and providing a high level of customer service for internal and external clients.
  • Take ownership of complex and high-profile events
  • Build and maintain relationships with a range of key stakeholders including clients, suppliers, and staff across the wider Tataki Auckland Unlimited organisation to ensure agreed service standards are met.
  • Monitor and manage event financials and budgets as set by the Account Representative
  • Participating in relevant projects with other teams or departments on a project basis to deliver high quality innovative activities.

He kōrero mōu: About you


To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum of three to five years' experience in an event management /coordination role or similar with experience in planning conferences, meetings, or gala dinners. 

 

In this exciting, fast-paced role you'll have regular contact with internal and external stakeholders, so you'll need to be a strong relationship builder and an excellent communicator, with previous relationship management experience.  You'll be able to easily build rapport with a range of people and have a strong focus on customer service. You'll also be process orientated, organised, and methodical in your approach, but also able to manage ambiguity when it arises.

 

You will be deadline-driven, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities while still retaining a high level of accuracy.

Please be aware: The role is 40 hours per week, generally Monday to Friday, however flexibility is required as there will be work outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends.
