The opportunity:

We are seeking a talented Event Planner to join our high performing team in a newly created role. Supporting our Auckland Live brand, in the performing arts environment.

We are the custodians of some of the most iconic venues in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland including the Aotea Centre, Aotea Square, The Civic, Auckland Town Hall, Bruce Mason Centre, Shed 10, The Cloud, Viaduct Events Centre.

Reporting to the Manager - Event Planning, one of the key purposes of this role is to plan and coordinate the delivery of events programmed and presented by Auckland Live with a focus on providing exceptional service to our clients. 
As an Event Planner you will coordinate logistics, maintain relationships with a range of national and international clients, internal staff, and external suppliers to bring their event to life, at one or more of our iconic venues.

This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to be a part of the team that plans and delivers approximately 1,000 events every year.

Key responsibilities include:

•    Provide the planning and operational expertise for multiple concurrent events by managing client and organisational requirements, planning and logistics, and providing a high-quality service for internal and external clients.

•    Take ownership of complex and high-profile events allocated by the Manager, Event Planning.

•    Build and maintain relationships with a range of national and international clients, internal staff, and external suppliers to ensure the organisation meets client and stakeholder expectations to agreed service standards.

•    Monitor and manage event financials and budgets as set by the Account Manager or Producer.

•    Participating in relevant projects with other teams or departments on a project basis to deliver high quality innovative activities as appropriate.

To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum of three years' experience in an event management /coordination role or similar.

For Auckland Live events, relevant experience in performing art events and musical theatre will be essential.

You will bring your strong communication and relationship building skills, attention to detail, and have a passion for the events and entertainment industry, 
 
You will be deadline driven, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities while still retaining a high level of accuracy.
