He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Tātaki Auckland Unlimited (TAU) is a council-controlled organisation (CCO) established with an important mandate to drive investment, supporting Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland businesses to innovate and thrive, enhancing Auckland as a culturally vibrant city, telling the Tāmaki Makaurau story, and importantly providing experiences and opportunities for all. 
  
In this role you will support event partners to deliver and develop world-class events- including stakeholder engagement and programme coordination for New Year’s Eve 2025-  that drive sustainable economic growth, showcase Auckland's unique identity, and make it a vibrant and interesting region where people love to live, work and visit.  


You will also be managing a portfolio of event partnerships to identify and execute opportunities to meet the objectives of Auckland's Major Events Strategy. 

  • Identify growth opportunities and develop long-term plans for their events
  • Negotiate contract terms to ensure the benefits are realised 
  • Identify and execute leverage opportunities to further enhance the benefits that the event generates for the region.

He kōrero mōu: About you 
You have a great depth of experience in designing and/or delivering major events or managing commercial partnerships.

Together with a growth mindset you are a people person who is passionate about assisting others and identifying ways to make processes more efficient. You are a team player with excellent organisation and interpersonal skills with exception attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • High level of problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Highly competent in influencing, advocacy, and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Commercial acumen and ability to negotiate commercial rights and benefits
