He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Auckland Stadiums are currently looking for an experienced Event Coordinator to join our busy organisation. Reporting to the Event Manager, you will work across a variety of events including some high-profile sporting events and concerts, such as New Zealand Warriors, Auckland FC, an exciting summer of live entertainment, assisting with the event and venue planning process and provide administrative support to the Event Team. 

In this role, you will engage with clients, offering expertise from the beginning of the event planning phase to coordinate requested event management plans, as well as problem solve when needed. You'll work to develop an understanding of our clients' requirements and work closely with internal teams including the security, property services, suppliers and service contractors to deliver high-quality events. You'll also ensure that health and safety issues are logged appropriately and all relevant stakeholder and client parties are debriefed to ensure high-quality events and maximum client satisfaction.

This is a 9-month, full-time, on-site role, with the head office at Go Media Stadium, and regular work across North Harbour Stadium and Western Springs Bowl. While the standard work week is Monday to Friday, flexibility is essential during event periods, including evenings and weekends. Time in lieu will be provided.

We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

  • Experience in event coordination, venue operations, hospitality, or a related field
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy events environment
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a customer-focused approach
  • Confidence working with clients, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to deliver successful events
  • Experience with event management or finance systems (such as Momentus) is advantageous, but not essential as training will be provided
  • A flexible approach to work, including occasional evenings and weekends during event delivery
  • A good level of fitness, as this is a hands-on role at times
  • A qualification in Event Management or a related discipline is desirable, but not essential
