Auckland Council is pleased to have an opportunity to welcome a new director to the Tāmaki Redevelopment Company (trading as Tāmaki Regeneration) board in 2025.

 

Tāmaki Regeneration was established in 2012 to achieve large-scale urban regeneration inTāmaki (Glen Innes, Point England and Panmure). This regeneration will support the community to thrive with improved housing, economic and social outcomes.

 

Auckland Council seeks a new director to strengthen the board and provide robust oversight of the core delivery areas of the company.

You will act with personal integrity and moral leadership with wise and thorough decision-making. Board members are accountable and responsive to the direction set by the shareholders. Directors are expected to act with a public service ethos, have a commitment to collaborate across the council group, to demonstrate financial accountability and drive a focus on value for money at board level.

 

Directors will have an understanding of te ao Māori and will seek improved outcomes for Māori.

 

We are looking for people with deep experience in the following areas:

  • financial acumen suitable to provide strong oversight and ensure that investments represent value for money
  • experience working within central and local government systems for funding, planning and regulation of key projects
  • track record of leading residential developments in the commercial sector.

Tāmaki Regeneration is a joint venture between central government and Auckland Council where Auckland Council is a minority (41%) share-holder.

 

The four key priorities of Tāmaki Regeneration are:

  • Social (supporting Tāmaki whānau to thrive)
  • Housing (building homes and communities)
  • Economic (helping the local economy to thrive)
  • Placemaking (supporting local cultural identity and sense of belonging).
