He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki is a cultural leader in Aotearoa New Zealand. The Gallery is a cornerstone of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland’s artistic life and offers transformative experiences that strengthen and enrich our communities.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Content Specialist to help bring this vision to life by delivering engaging, seamless, and data-informed digital content. You’ll be embedded in the Gallery’s digital work while being part of the Content & Channels team at Tātaki Auckland Unlimited – the region’s cultural, events, and destination agency that delivers world-class experiences across Auckland.

In a typical day, you will:

  • Deliver the Auckland Art Gallery content strategy, including the editorial model and coordination of content creation (in collaboration with the Gallery’s Managing Editor – Publications).
  • Manage the Gallery website, including content updates, technical development, UX enhancements, and bug resolution with the TAU Digital Services team.
  • Manage, deliver, and report on eDMs.
  • Develop and refine Salesforce Marketing Cloud use, supporting personalisation and automated customer journeys.
  • Oversee and work with our data partner to optimise GA4, Google Console, and GTM for the Gallery.
  • Lead monthly digital reporting and use analytics to inform decisions.
  • Ensure content and campaigns align with our content strategy, best SEO practices, and TAU brand and digital guidelines.

You’ll bring:

  • At least 3–4 years’ experience in a digital content or digital marketing role.
  • Proven experience managing websites (CMS) and supporting product-style approaches to digital platforms.
  • Experience delivering content strategies and managing editorial workflows.
  • Strong understanding of CRM tools and eDM management, Salesforce Marketing Cloud would be a bonus.
  • Solid skills in GA4, Google Console, GTM, and digital reporting.
  • Ability to interpret analytics and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities across projects.
