Auckland Council’s Communications department has an opportunity for a Digital Content Editor to join the Channel and Production team on a fixed term contract until early October 2026. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, audience-focused content that informs, engages, and inspires Aucklanders.


You could expect to work on:
•    Use data and insights to optimise content performance – especially events - and accessibility.
•    Support forward-planning for OurAuckland channels, with a focus on eDMs.
•    Advocate for digital-first, accessible formats.
•    Collaborate with customers and teams across Council to deliver impactful content, including event listings

He kōrero mōu: About you


This role requires experience in digital content publishing within large and complex organisations. We’re looking for someone who understands what makes audience-focused content, how to optimise content performance using data and bring creativity to Council’s communications.


We will be looking for specific experience with the key role requirements:
•    3–5 years’ experience in editing and publishing content for digital channels, including SEO.
•    Strong editing capability across channels.
•    Experience with CMS platforms, email marketing tools and Google Analytics.
•    Ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple deadlines.
•    Strong attention to detail and ability to identify key messages.
•    Great relationship skills across a variety of stakeholders
