  • This is a permanent, full-time opportunity, working 40 hours per week on a shift or rotational basis.

 

He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Are you ready to take on the role of a Control Room Operator? In this position, you'll be working closely with the Shift Supervisor to efficiently operate and keep a close eye on CCTV (Closed Circuit Television), access, and alarm systems. Your primary goal will be to ensure everything runs smoothly while adhering to operating procedures, legislation, and best practices.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Always ensure the highest level of security for buildings and contents.
  • Assess and deal with security risks through sound workplace practises.
  • Ensure that the security of Tātaki Auckland Unlimited Venues and the safety of occupants are maintained.
  • Adhere to all rules, regulations, and procedures pertaining to security and the organisation’s code of ethics.
  • Treat all information and procedures as strictly confidential.
  • Participate in all training, meetings, and development exercises as may be required.
  • Assist in preparations for and clearance of special security operations.
  • Be a proactive and supportive member of the Safety and Security team.
  • Make decisions and provide solutions that balance the needs of people, the organisation, and the environment.
  • Take individual responsibility for health and safety.
  • Identify and report all hazards and take action to eliminate them where practicable.
  • Carry out the duties of a fire warden in the event of a fire alarm activation or other building evacuation.

You will be highly motivated with strong observation and problem-solving skills. You have a strong understanding of security principles, best practices, and procedures. Familiarity with various security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems. You will enjoy working as part of a wider team of security personnel with a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.

  • Ability to liaise effectively with various agencies and staff members to ensure the CCTV system is utilised appropriately, maintaining high standards of evidential records and statements.
  • Deliver exceptional service when handling radio, telephone, and Microsoft Teams communications, resolving enquiries professionally and efficiently.
  • Take charge of maintaining and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) in collaboration with the Security Development Advisor.
  • Demonstrate a keen eye for identifying suspicious behaviour and promptly alerting the appropriate authorities.
  • Adapt and evolve with the changing business and people needs, showcasing your flexibility and adaptability.
