Te kōpura o Tāmaki Makaurau | About Auckland Council
Auckland Council is the local government authority for the Auckland region — New Zealand’s largest city and one of the most diverse in the world. We serve more than 1.7 million residents across a region that stretches from Rodney in the north to Franklin in the south, delivering the services, infrastructure, and planning that shape everyday life in Tāmaki Makaurau.
Auckland Council appoints board members to a range of entities to ensure that public assets and facilities continue to serve all Aucklanders. These appointments are a critical part of how we exercise stewardship on behalf of the communities who benefit from them.
Mō te tūnga | About the Trust
The Mt Albert Grammar School Community Swimming Pool Trust (the Trust) is a charitable trust established to build, operate and promote the Mt Albert Aquatic Centre, located on the Mt Albert Grammar School, 38 Alberton Avenue, Mt Albert.
The Trust plays a public interest role in ensuring the ongoing benefits of the Mt Albert Aquatic Centre to Mt Albert Grammar School (MAGS) and the wider community.
The centre attracts approximately 340,000 visits per year and offers a 25-metre competition pool, wave pool, hydro slide, spas, sauna, and steam room. It is operated under contract by Community Leisure Management (CLM), under the oversight of Auckland Council.
The Trust board comprises members appointed by Auckland Council and by Mt Albert Grammar School. The Chair is an independent appointee, appointed by Auckland Council in consultation with the MAGS appointees.
