He angitūtanga: The opportunity
The key purpose of this permanent part-time role (20 hours per week) is responsibility for ensuring the timely and professional delivery of all aspects of catering for Auckland Live and Auckland Conventions, Venues & Events, including
• Leading the Front of House Food and Beverage operations with a focus on manaakitanga - customer service
• Contribute to developing the capability of staff through recruitment, mentoring, coaching and identifying training and development needs to improve performance
• Planning and delivering of catering at events, pack in/pack out and day to day operations.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, adhere to all current licensing and organisational Health and Safety policies.
• Work collaboratively with all departments and suppliers to deliver an efficient and safe operation throughout any Tātaki Auckland Unlimited venues and precincts.
• Be the main point of contact for everything catering related leading up to and during events
He kōrero mōu: About you
You will have experience within the food and beverage, hospitality and/or event industry and have enthusiasm and a passion for delivering excellent customer service. You relate well to a wide range of people, ensuring a high standard of service is provided.
• 3+ years’ experience of working knowledge, at an operational/managerial level, in a conference centre, hotel or similar hospitality or service-related environment, including supervising staff.
• 2+ years’ experience in food and beverage service
• Understanding of NZ food safety and H&S legislation
• Work well under pressure in a fast past environment
• Hold a current full NZ driver’s licence
• A current General Manager's certificate is an advantage.
• Availability to work flexible hours (including evenings, early mornings, late finishes, weekends and public holidays)

The role will work 20 hours per week on rostered shifts over 7 days which will include nights, weekends, and public holidays, dependent on the events we are holding
The role is paid hourly with starting rate of $35.50 per hour.
