Our Auckland Conventions Venues & Events Sales team are currently seeking a motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as a Business Development Executive for a permanent full-time opportunity!

 


He kōrero mōu: About you

 


Our ideal applicant possesses excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a high attention to detail with at least 1- 2 years of experience working in a sales or similar role, preferably in the MICE/Events/Hotel/Tourism Industry (preferred but not essential).

 

  • We are looking for someone with a strong customer service ethic and a deep sense of personal ownership and responsibility.
  • As a self-motivated individual, you will thrive in managing multiple projects and tasks independently.
  • Recognising the significance of following a sales cycle through to completion, you will take proactive measures to keep customers informed, provide exceptional customer care, and create a positive experience.
  • Your dedication to delivering a well-rounded experience for both new and existing customers will be consistent and unwavering

 


Being able to work efficiently is important in this role, so our ideal applicant will come equipped with proficiency in using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and feel comfortable utilising technology as needed to help you deliver in this role. Experience with Momentus technology would be preferred but not essential.

 

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Respond to incoming sales enquiries from the Auckland Conventions website, email address, and main reception phone line.
  • Identify and develop new relationships with prospective customers in a proactive manner
  • Maintain relationships with existing clients and respond to enquiries received directly from them
  • Collaborate with support staff to deliver sales proposals, site inspections, quotes, and contracts in a timely manner
  • Ensure timely follow-up of event opportunities leading to conversion to contract
  • Conduct site visits with clients for incoming enquiries as and when required
  • Provide clients with relevant venue-related requirements
  • Ensure accurate and timely handover of confirmed events to Event Coordinator and Technical Coordinator

 


Some evening and weekend work may be required for this role
