He angitūtanga: The opportunity

 

This is an exciting and challenging career opportunity to join Auckland Council's Built Heritage Implementation team, who are responsible for implementing the operational heritage programmes for the Auckland region and providing specialist heritage advice during the resource consent process. The team is passionate about heritage and ensuring that their work makes a significant difference to the protection, conservation and enhancement of heritage places within the region.

 

This role is focused on providing specialist built heritage expertise in the implementation of Auckland’s historic heritage rules.  You will be reviewing and processing resource consent applications for heritage buildings and work as a key liaison between the Resource Consents department and the heritage unit to provide heritage consenting advice to internal and external clients.

 

He kōrero mōu: About you

 

Naturally, along with a passion for built heritage, you will have strong experience from architecture, consenting and planning implementation, or heritage positions. You will be familiar with district & regional planning processes and will be familiar with best-practice heritage concepts and adaptive re-use. You will have experience with tikanga Māori and a good understanding of Te Ao Māori.
