He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Our Building Consent team have a crucial role in ensuring safe, healthy, sustainable, and well-constructed buildings by ensuring that construction adheres to codes, safety standards and regulations across the Auckland region. This graduate role will help you understand compliance (or non-compliance) with the building code and the approved building consent specifications. 

Your day-to-day tasks will involve assisting with:

• Site inspections by reviewing the consented building work across disciplines such as building, plumbing and drainage. 
• Front of house enquiries regarding building consent services. 
• Processing of building consents. 
• Conducting Audits with our capability team.

Our Building Consent graduates will showcase initiative, resilience and problem-solving skills. They also have strong attention to detail, possess excellent customer service skills, have a thirst for learning and are not afraid to ask questions!  

We welcome applications from graduates in the following disciplines: 

• Building Control Surveying 
• Construction Management
• Quantity Surveying
• Architecture, Architectural drafting or technology
• Building Science
• Engineering (Civil, Construction, Architectural)
• Or relevant qualifications that meet regulation requirements listed here. 

To be eligible to apply, you must have the following:

• Eligibility to work in New Zealand for more than 3 years without sponsorship
• Minimum of a relevant bachelor’s degree completed January 2024 – January 2026
• Have a valid NZ restricted driver’s license with the ability to obtain a full license before February 2028 (you will require a full driver's license before the end of your programme)
