He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Our Building Consent team have a crucial role in ensuring safe, healthy, sustainable, and well-constructed buildings by ensuring that construction adheres to codes, safety standards and regulations across the Auckland region. This graduate role will help you understand compliance (or non-compliance) with the building code and the approved building consent specifications.
Your day-to-day tasks will involve assisting with:
- Site inspections by reviewing the consented building work across disciplines such as building, plumbing and drainage.
- Front of house enquiries regarding building consent services.
- Processing of building consents.
- Conducting Audits with our capability team.

Our Building Consent graduates will showcase initiative, resilience and problem-solving skills. They also have strong attention to detail, possess excellent customer service skills, have a thirst for learning and are not afraid to ask questions!
We welcome applications from graduates in the following disciplines:
- Building Control Surveying
- Construction Management
- Quantity Surveying
- Architecture, Architectural drafting or technology
- Building Science
- Engineering (Civil, Construction, Architectural)
- Or relevant qualifications that meet regulation requirements listed here.
To be eligible to apply, you must have the following:
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand for more than 3 years without sponsorship
- Minimum of a relevant bachelor’s degree completed January 2024 – January 2026
- Have a valid NZ restricted driver’s license with the ability to obtain a full license before February 2028 (you will require a full driver's license before the end of your programme)
